Around the World: France (Part 2 and 3)

We enjoyed our first French meal so much that we ended up having two more this week!

We had several crepes left over from the first meal, so we froze them and then thawed them in enough time to have savory crepes for dinner this week. We sauteed mushrooms, onions, and spinach to put in ours along with goat cheese and brie, and the kids had crepes stuffed with turkey and cheese. Anya ate all of hers and loved it!

Several days later, we had Croque Monsieur (a fancy toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a cheese sauce), asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and a salad. For dessert, we had homemade chocolate mousse. Of course, this was all with wine. The kids loved this meal as well. Anya ate a whole piece of asparagus (rare for her!) and called the sandwiches “amazing.”

We have enough ingredients left over to have the sandwiches again maybe next week, and I have what I need to make 2 loaves of brioche, but it depends on when and if I get the time to make it.

We are already excited to see what country we will be exploring next month!
