So “skincare” is the subject of our next writing prompt in the 2014 Blogging Challenge. When I first saw it, I had no idea what I was going to write about. To be honest, I still don’t. So I decided to write about the first thought that entered my head when I saw the subject.
Skincare…what’s that? Of course I know what skincare is, and I know that taking care of my skin is important since it is what covers my body. However, I don’t have a lot of time for taking care of my skin. I am a mother of two small children, so skincare is often one of the last things on my mind.
So as far as skincare goes, I am doing the “Mommy skincare routine.” If you’re a mom, you know what I’m talking about. It’s where you wash your face in the morning and shower at least daily. You are probably washing your hands a million times a day because you are changing what seems like a million diapers a day. This leaves your hands feeling really dry and itchy from all that washing. So when there is a few extra seconds in my day (usually at the very end of the day), I try to put some lotion on my hands to help with the dryness. But as soon as my son wakes up, I will have to change his diaper, which will result in me washing my hands, which, in turn, washes off all the lotion I just put on.
So there you have it. That’s my skincare routine. Wash frequently and use lotion when there’s time. Maybe in about 10 years when my kids are able to do things for themselves without my constant supervision, I will have great-looking skin!
